Repair guide for Puroplaz PE20

We get it. Sometimes accidents happen and damage to the thermoplastic surface occurs. Fortunately a fix is pretty easy, whether it's a deep scratch or a lighter one.

Deep Scratch Repair

Equipment for Deep scratch repair

  1. Heat gun / flame torch
  2. Stanley Knife
  3. Silicone seam hand pressure roller (non-stick roller)
  4. Small wire brass
  5. Scissors (for coating sheet or pressing)
  6. Coating powder or coating sheet/pressing/strand
  7. Fine or ultra-fine sandpaper

Procedure for Deep scratch repair

  1. Clean up damaged area with wet cloth and then a dry cloth.
  2. Use the wire brass to remove any excess coating from the damaged area.
  3. Apply heat to damaged area with heat gun or a flame torch.
  4. When the temperature of the damaged area reaches 200°F- 240°F, then sprinkle powder to the hot surface allowing powder to melt.
  5. As heat is applied, the plastic will begin to melt and smooth out to the original surface.
  6. Use sandpaper to remove any uneven parts.
  7. Continue to smooth the surface by applying heat and stop when you are satisfied with the surface finish.

  1. Heat gun / flame torch
  2. Silicone seam hand pressure roller (Optional)

Procedure for Light Scratch Repair

  1. Clean up damaged area with wet cloth and then a dry cloth.
  2. Apply heat to damaged area with heat gun or a flame torch.
  3. As heat is applied, the plastic will begin to melt and smooth out to the original surface.
  4. Continue to smooth the surface by applying heat and stop when you are satisfied with the surface finish.
