The IFS architectural powder range is suitable for both interior and exterior applications on aluminum and steel, including curtain wall, windows, fencing, railings, and more. Architectural grade performance powder offers world-class durability, incredible weathering, strong chemical resistance, and mechanical performance. Powder coatings also offer an excellent alternative to liquid PVDF and anodized finishes, boasting a significantly improved sustainability footprint.

Architectural Coating Performance – AAMA Specifications 

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA), previously known as AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association), sets the standards for coating performance on architectural applications. 

Although the organization’s name changed, the performance specifications are still known as the AAMA specs. There are three AAMA performance coating specs. Each spec defines the performance requirements and durability expectations for coatings used in different architectural environments. In addition to defining performance requirements, AAMA specs mandate specific ASTM tests and the pass/fail parameters to evaluate the coatings’ ability to withstand various environmental and mechanical stresses, including chemical, mechanical, and weathering tests.
