Powder is basically paint in a powder form. It is a dry, powder substance that is manufactured in a unique way, applied electrostatically and cured in an oven. It provides a beautiful, tough, protective coating available in thousands of colors and effects.
You can apply most IFS powders to metal substrates like aluminum and steel, though some other substrates are also powder coated. Our PureClad range of powder products allows you to apply powder to heat sensitive substrates, like wood and engineered wood products. Whatever you're powder coating, we got you covered!
No powder needs to be applied to the part on a professional coating line. It cannot be applied on site because it needs to be cured in an oven.
No, powder needs to be made in a factory. This is because we have to use specialist equipment such as an extruder and micronizer, to make the powder. This means we have excellent quality control!
We aim to match it, make it and mail it to you in 7 – 10 days. When we receive the samples, the IFS Coatings color matching experts will check the match and then enter the work into our system to be made. Once the color is matched then the powder is created, sprayed onto panels and then sent back to you for approval. We can also match and make the powder straight away if required.
We want to make sure you have the most up to date SDS available for your IFS powder product. We don't have them online, and they are sent with your product purchase. If need to get a copy, just reach out and we will send the correct and most up to date SDS to you.
